Huntington Debt Holding has successfully completed the Service Organization Control 2 (SOC2) Type 2 Reporting audit. Created by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), SOC 2 is a comprehensive reporting framework aimed to assure customers and business partners that our security guidelines are in place and that we follow through on our commitment to data protection and transparency. Our SOC 2 assessment of non-financial reporting controls was conducted by a third-party auditor, Bronsky & Company, CPAs.

Pronounced like “sock,” this acronym stands for Service Organization Control and refers to specific reports from an independent third party to establish and provide trust service providers, like us. The independent, third-party auditor, Bronsky & Company, CPA’s, reviewed our internal controls, policies, and processes relating to risk management and our entire IT infrastructure. Each area of our business was evaluated, including our software development life cycle, change management, logical security, network security, physical and environmental security, and computer operations.

The SOC 2 Type 2 Audit tested our information systems and controls along with other procedures necessary to conform with the established standards. Our team of receivables professionals represents our corporate values of security, integrity, and trustworthiness and were prepared and committed to our audit. The extensive report focused on five areas of service delivery: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.

  • Security – protects the system against unauthorized access, be it physical or logical
  • Availability – makes the system available for use as agreed upon in contracts with customers
  • Processing Integrity – ensures the complete and timely processing of information
  • Confidentiality – protects any information deemed confidential with appropriate controls
  • Privacy – handles any personal information per your organization’s privacy notice

These criteria must be addressed in every SOC audit. In addition to this standard criteria, we follow strict information security policies and procedures that are based heavily on AICPA’s latest set of Trust Service Principles Criteria, TSP 100 – 2017. Huntington Debt Holding derives best practices from our audit preparation process and strives to continuously evolve with managing cybersecurity threats, effective processes, and controls in place to detect, respond to, mitigate, and recover from breaches and other security events that impact our digital world.

This scrutiny proves that Huntington Debt Holding has the appropriate controls in place to mitigate risks related to our customers. “We believe that providing superior customer service begins with keeping our clients, our customers, and their data safe and secure. We take this responsibility very seriously and we want people to know that we fiercely protect the data that is entrusted to us. Performing our SOC 2 audit helps provide immediate proof that we do,” says Dennis DiGesare, Chief Compliance Officer.
